Dear Reader Even though I’ve been back home in Idaho for over two weeks now, the high of Fashion Week Stockyards Style in Fort Worth, Texas, is still with me—and it only grew stronger this week when I was featured in American Watercolor Weekly!
At the beginning of October, I was one of only 15 artists selected from over 115 applicants nationwide to demonstrate in the Modern Masters of the West program. I was partnered with PH Barn Door, the American Paint Horse Association’s flagship store at the Stockyards, where I spent three days sharing my poured watercolor process with visitors from all over. The event brought together fashion, heritage, and contemporary Western art in such a dynamic way—and to my delight, I received the Honorable Mention Award. Only three awards were given (Best of Show, Honorable Mention, and People's Choice), and this recognition meant that I was invited to demonstrate next to the runway during the fashion walk. To stand there with my watercolors flowing, right in the heart of such an iconic celebration of Western culture, was unforgettable. What I’ll treasure most, though, are the connections made—with fellow artists, with collectors, and with those who paused to watch color come alive on paper. Thank you to everyone who has cheered me on during this journey—it means the world to have your support. Warmly, P.S. If you’d like to see more, I’ve posted photos and videos from the event on Instagram @leslielambertfineart. |
