Introducing Watercolor Safari — A New Class I’m Excited to Share (Online and In Person)

Hello Reader,

I’m excited to share details for Watercolor Safari, a new watercolor course focused on painting the expressive beauty of animals found in Africa. This class is offered online via Zoom and in person in Twin Falls, so you can join in the way that works best for you.

This class has been quietly taking shape in my sketchbooks and studio for a while now, inspired by my recent travels and my love of animals, movement, and letting watercolor do what it does best — flow, surprise, and bring personality to the page.

🐘 Watercolor Safari — Online Course (via Zoom)

Mondays, February 9 – March 16
Time: 12–2 pm PST/ 1–3 pm MST/ 2–4 pm CST/ 5–7 pm EST

Cost: $165 USD for 6 sessions

Each Zoom session will be recorded and available after the live class, with lifetime access to the recordings.

In this course, you’ll learn how to paint animals of the African wild using simple shapes, layered watercolor washes, and clear step-by-step guidance. Each week we’ll focus on a different animal — including elephants, giraffes, lions, zebras, and birds.

You’ll learn how to:

  • Suggest fur and texture without overworking
  • Capture personality through eyes and posture
  • Create lively, expressive color palettes
  • Build confidence painting animals in watercolor

This course is designed for all levels, including beginners who have always wanted to paint animals but didn’t know where to start.
All are welcome — no drawing experience necessary.

A Zoom link and suggested supply list will be sent upon registration.

That’s exactly what we’re going to change—starting this Monday. 🌄 Starting This Monday: Wide Open Skies Painting the Western Landscape in Watercolor Online Course This 5-week...

Dear Reader, This weekend at Cowgirl Up! was a powerful reminder of just how meaningful it is to live with art that carries story, risk, and heart. As artists, we were invited to preview the exhibition before it opened to the public. Walking into the museum, I was immediately struck by the strength of the work. These women are extraordinary—each piece layered with experience, history, and voice. And standing among it, I’ll be honest… I felt small. As I moved through the galleries, I found...
