Surprising News: Best in Show at WAOW National Exhibition! Plus New Gallery Representation

Dear Reader,

I have some truly unexpected and thrilling news to share! As many of you know, I was honored to have three of my paintings juried into the Women Artists of the West National Exhibition at the Customs House Museum in Clarksville, Tennessee. While I had hoped to attend the opening reception, my schedule simply wouldn’t allow it. I was aware that the awards ceremony was taking place on Saturday night, but honestly, I wasn’t expecting anything—I was just grateful to be included in such an incredible show.

That evening, I was at the Intercollegiate Rodeo, cheering on the team from the College of Southern Idaho. By the time I got home, I was tired but decided to scroll through Facebook before bed. That’s when I stumbled upon a recording of the awards ceremony. I started watching, eager to hear from juror and esteemed artist Lori Putnam, whom I deeply admire. As the awards were announced, I found myself growing sleepy, drifting in and out of consciousness.

Then came the final award of the night—Best in Show.

Wait… what? Did I just hear my name? Leslie Lambert? For Tougher Than the Rest?

I immediately rewound the video and listened again. And again. Surely, I had misheard. But no—it was real! I was fully awake now, confirming that yes, I am indeed Leslie Lambert, and yes, Tougher Than the Rest was in the show.

Cue the squealing!

I texted the only friend I knew would be awake (my rodeo companion) and squealed some more! I could hardly believe it—I had won Best in Show in this prestigious national exhibition! The validation from such an esteemed group of artists means the world to me, and it has left me feeling incredibly inspired and energized to get back into the studio.

Thank you to everyone who has supported me on this journey. Your encouragement, kind words, and belief in my work keep me pushing forward. I can’t wait to share what’s next!

It's Official! I am now represented by Over The Moon Gallery

Over the past year, Over The Moon Gallery has graciously invited me to be a guest artist in several of their exhibitions. That alone was an incredible opportunity, but recently, the owners, Carol and Jane, extended an even greater honor. They asked if I would like to be permanently represented by their gallery!

Carol and Jane are not only talented artists themselves but passionate advocates for the creative community. They have worked tirelessly to build an online gallery that is both welcoming and inspiring—for artists and collectors alike. Their enthusiasm and dedication made my decision an easy one—of course, I said yes!

To celebrate our collaboration and introduce my work to their collectors, we’ve put together a blog post where you can learn more about my art and journey. You can read more about it here.

I am excited to be offered so many new opportunities to create and to share my work and my knowledge of painting with each of you. I feel truly blessed. But the greatest blessing has been friends like you who keep believing in me and cheering me on.

With love and gratitude,

Leslie Lambert
