Hello Reader, October was quite a month, filled with some wonderful artistic opportunities, unexpected challenges, and moments that have reminded me just how precious life really is. At the beginning of the month, I traveled to Fort Worth, Texas, to participate in Modern Masters of the West at the historic Fort Worth Stockyards. What an incredible place to celebrate Western art, horses, and the stories that connect us to the American West! An Incredible CollaborationOne of the highlights of this experience was my collaboration with the American Paint Horse Association and PH Barn Door. It has been such a pleasure working with people who share my appreciation for the beauty, spirit, and individuality of these remarkable horses. As part of this collaboration, my artwork made its way onto something a little different from watercolor paper—T-shirts! There's something especially fun about seeing a painting take on a new life beyond the studio. I've always loved the idea that art doesn't have to live only on a wall. Sometimes it can be something you wear, something that starts a conversation, or simply something that makes you smile. You can purchase the shirts through PH Barn Door by clicking here. Of course, this trip also became one I will never forget for a very different reason. While I was in Fort Worth, my mother passed away. Many of you have already reached out with such thoughtful messages after I shared the news of her passing, and I want you to know how much your kindness has meant to me. I had stepped away from much of my usual work and online activity to spend time with Mom during her final weeks, and afterward I needed some time to be with family, grieve, and find my footing again. That meant I never really had the opportunity to share some of the wonderful things happening with my art, including this collaboration. Mom was the person who first introduced me to art, and I can't help but think she would have been delighted to see where this journey has taken me. A Little Art You Can WearAlong with the collaboration in Fort Worth, I've been adding some of my own watercolor-inspired T-shirt designs to my online shop. These designs feature artwork inspired by the horses, Western traditions, and colorful personalities that I love to paint. If you'd like to take a look, you can explore the collection here:
And Something Special Is Coming…As we head into the holiday season, I'm putting together something I've been wanting to do for a while—a special Black Friday event featuring original watercolors, fine art prints, and wearable art. I'll be sharing more details in the coming weeks, including a first look at a small collection of original paintings that will be available for the event. And as a thank-you for being part of my email community, you'll have the opportunity to shop before the sale opens to everyone else. For now, I'm simply grateful to be back sharing my art with you. Thank you for being part of this journey, through the exciting moments and the difficult ones. Your encouragement means more than you know. Warmly, Leslie Lambert Luminous Realism — Where Water, Light, and Story Converge |
Hello Reader, Faithful, A painting I did of my mom in 2012 I haven’t been as active with my newsletter lately. I took time away to be with my mother during the last couple of weeks of her life, and then to mourn her passing. I will always mourn her. Some days, I remind myself that she is in a better place, free from dementia and a failing body. Other days, I struggle to focus and want to do nothing but cry because I miss seeing her and hearing her laugh. I’m crying as I write this. I miss her...
Hello Reader, You may have noticed that I’ve been a little quiet over the past month. We’ve had a few medical emergencies in my family that needed my time and attention, and as sometimes happens in life, a few things simply had to be set aside for a while. Family needed to come first. But even while my focus has been pulled in other directions, some pretty exciting things have been happening in my art world—and I’ve been looking forward to finally sharing them with you. Apparently, I’m going...
Hello Reader, I had every intention of sending one final reminder before my Summer Studio Sale came to a close. Unfortunately, an unexpected family emergency pulled me away for several days, and I wasn't able to share the final newsletter as planned. Shop the Summer Studio Sale Because of that, I'd hate for anyone to miss the opportunity to take advantage of the special pricing. As a thank you for your patience and understanding, I've decided to extend my Summer Studio Sale through Friday,...
